dada-da-dadadada
Location: Lai Chi Wo Village, Hong Kong
2016
First time stepping into Lai Chi Wo, we found a young farmer digging the ground, determined to create a channel connecting the water stream to irrigate the land. We are inspired that water is bringing the land into live and turn it from a bared-land to a farmland. Such continuous water supply also susistain the farmland and thus our living. Therefore our work hope to remind visitor the beauty of nature and emphasis on the interaction with nature, such that our work is powered by water and create sound of bamboo beats during it’s movement to remind people the important of the stream and reconcider the relationship between water, land and lives.
We are fascinated that Lai Chi Wo’s stream not only moisten the farmland, but also nuture and feed a number of habitats for various animals, insects and plants. It’s contributing to the bio-diversity of the place and you can definitely experiecne that though listening closely.
Therefore we would like to bring you along to exprience a journey of nature, following the four scattered sound device which marked four different listening spot that we found most interesting in it’s natural soundscape and views.
